COMMUNITY SERVICES EXCURSION
On Tuesday 8th November, we took the prep, one and two students to visit the Police Station, Ambulance Station and the Sunraysia Community Health Centre.
The students were shown what police wear on their belts. One student was breathalized and another hand cuffed. We were taken down under the station and saw how prisoners were transferred from the lock up over to the court house.
An ambulance officer performed various first aid applications on some of the students and they all got to look through an ambulance.
At the Sunraysia Community Health Centre all students sat in the dental chair.
Holly is enjoying her ride in the wheel chair used for moving patients from difficult places.
Dylan is being treated for a pretend asthma attack.
Lily has a big smile for the dentist.
LOUD SHIRT DAY
Loud Shirt Day raises money for children who are hearing impaired. The students wore their loud shirts today and gave a donation for the privilege to do so. The money will go to Taralye, Victoria’s leading oral language centre which provides services to deaf and hearing impaired children and their families.

ROYAL FLYING DOCTORS SERVICE
The students in Ms Wookey’s room were treated to a visit from the Royal Flying Doctors Service late last term. They had a first hand look at what is inside the fusilage of one of their specially equipped planes.
NAIDOC WEEK
The whole school took a bus to the Two Rivers College to celebrate NAIDOC week. There were three different activities the students participated in. Prep, one, two painted clapping sticks and learnt a traditional dance. Grades three and four learnt about traditional weapons used in ancient times.
They tried throwing spears and boomerangs. Grades five and six learnt about traditional food and medicine. They made Johnny Cakes and cooked them in a fire pit.
Footy Day
On the last day of Term Three the students participated in Footy Colours Day. By far the most popular teams were Collingwood closely followed by Carlton. The students dressed in their favourite team’s colours. They tried out their football skills then had hot dogs for lunch.

Book Day
On Thursday 25th August we met Nangiloc/Colignan at Sunnycliffs Primary School to celebrate Book Week. Every-one dressed up as a book or movie character. We had a parade at the start of the day for every-one to show off their costumes. After the parade we broke up into groups and did different activities related to the Book Week theme “One World Many Stories”.
New School Buildings now official…
On Friday the 9th of September the Minister for Education, Honorable Martin Dixon came to open our schools new buildings. He was entertained by the students singing the National Anthem, and school captains Lotus and Riley each gave a speech of welcome.
